Hey there Megan! I took a look at your gallery, and you have a good start! Just remember the basic principles of composition (rule of thirds, etc. - your "Desert Plant" picture is an awesome example :)). Also, try taking pictures of subjects in unique ways - instead of snapping straight-on shots, try taking them from a different perspective or angle or different time of day. You're off to a great start - keep up the awesome work :D

Hey

I dropped you a pretty lengthy comment. Right now your gallery is very typical of a beginner. Just keep browsing DA and looking at good art, and you will start to get an eye for good lighting and composition. Also, before you go submission crazy, I would try to keep your gallery pretty small for right now in order to consolidate comments and critique.
